About

Different

I want this site to be the place you come after everything else you’ve read during the day. The go to place for all the interesting tidbits you may have missed. The place for unique links that you know you’ll be interested in and haven’t already seen. The place for exclusive articles that aim to teach and enlighten. The absolute best place to go to learn about technology, and how to make it work better for you.

The go to place for when you’ve had enough news and want to learn something or see something interesting.

There must be hundreds of ‘tech blogs’ out there regurgitating the same news and articles over and over again. I mean, how many times do you see the same thing in your RSS reader? There are some great places to go to get the news, and there are just tons of sites that I positively love and that are already doing their unique ‘thing’ in the tech circle1.

This site is different. It’s my thing. It’s for the technology that has anything but to do with the news. Technology that is greater than news. It’s more than just newsworthy. It’s above time. It’s timeless.

And in truth, technology is a big part of this site, but it’s far from all. I urge you to browse around to get a real feel for what this site is all about.

So how do you know that you’ll like this site? Well, I spend a good amount of time on the internet every day and come across some great things that you haven’t seen reposted and reblogged a million times already. Things that I find helpful, important, interesting, intriguing, and that, if you’re anything like me - and by the mere merit that you stumbled upon this site one way or another, trust me, you are - you’ll like too. You’ll love this blog like no other. You’ll throw every article into Instapaper2. Trust me. This blog is for you.

The real meat though, is the editorials, articles, and how-tos. Longer form pieces that aim to teach you things and will leave you feeling like you gained something from it at the end. That is a promise.

Subscribed to too many blogs? Great. Then this is the perfect blog for you to subscribe to as well. I promise you won’t regret it.

Benefits

There are some great benefits to simply having found this website (and subscribing to/reading it). I put a lot into this website, and I want to put just as much into my readers.

Go ahead, ask me questions. My email is mail@devirkahan.com and will always remain public. More than that though, is that I will reply to every email I get. If you need help with something, I am your guy. It may take me a little while to get back to you, but I promise that I will. No matter how long it takes.

“Membership” here is free. If you read this site, I’d love to help you out, or even just chat. That’s part of this all. Tech support, suggestions, questions - whatever it is, feel free to let me know whenever you’d like.

Enjoy

I think at this point you get what I am trying to say, and more importantly what I am trying to do with this site.

This is the one more blog you should subscribe to. And I hope you share this site with other people you think will love it as well.

And if you love this site as much as I would hope you do and want to support it, just read it, subscribe to it, and keep on doing what you’re doing. (Or if you really want, you can sponsor it.)

I have a love hate relationship with taglines. On the one hand, they’re too constricting. At same time, though, it’s good to be able to boil your ideals down to one or two lines. My problem is that there are quite a few lines on this page that I think would make fine taglines for this site. Thing is, I can’t choose just one?

When it comes down to it, I think I’d just say ‘read the about page’.

  1. Think Ben Brooks, Shawn Blanc, John Gruber, Patrick Rhone, the list goes on and on.

  2. If you’re an Instapaper kind of a person, of course.
